Australian Museum Menagerie: Contemporary Indigenous Sculpture – Danie Mellor

Danie Mellor is an award-winning artist whose work is represented in just about every major state gallery. In 2009 he received Australia's premier Indigenous prize, The National Telstra Art Award. Danie's work Red, White and Blue, depicting three kangaroos in pose of Gandhiji's three monkeys, was featured in the recent Menagerie: Contemporary Indigenous Sculpture exhibition at the Australian Museum. Menagerie is currently on tour around Australia.
Come and meet Danie and hear him speak about the inspiration behind his work, which engages with Indigenous and Western perspectives of Australian history.
